Marshmallow Root (Althea officinalis)

Ooey, yes, gooey, sure, but otherwise nothing like the sweet white puffball you roast on a stick while camping. Marshmallow Root has been approved and indicated for coating and soothing of gastrointestinal irritations by the German Standard License, the British Herbal Compendium and Germany's Commission E. The pretty Marshmallow flowers, stems and leaves contain some mucilage, but the root is especially rich with the gooey stuff that has been used to soothe the mouth, throat, and the digestive system, including heartburn, diarrhea, colitis and irritable bowel for centuries.

Marshmallow Root is used in the following 2 products:

Organic Heartburn Tea
Mama-To-Be Tea Sampler
